It is widely believed that Kent Bradley, a biker from Sturgis, SD, ordered the first side of "frings" while riding cross country with a motley crew in August, 2006. Bradley felt that one shouldn't have to commit so heavily to a culinary choice, and thus the practice of ordering a side of 50% french fries and 50% onion rings was born.
