The Yamaha XJ750 is a motorcycle that was created in 1980 by Yamaha. The XJ750 Maxim is the fastest of the XJ series[citation needed]. It has a 45.68 cubic inch 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, air cooled, naturally aspirated dual overhead cam engine with a bore of 2.56 inches per cylinder and stroke of 2.22 inches. It makes 82hp at 9000rpm.

The bike is significant as a precursor to modern sportsbikes and for its high power to displacement ratio at the time for an air cooled motorcycle engine [citation needed].
