Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre is an Australian arena located approximately 5km south of the Tamworth Central Business District in the suburb of Hillvue. It is a multipurpose centre with a seating capacity of 5,100 and is the biggest of its kind outside the NSW and south-east Queensland metropolitan areas.

Centre Uses

Its biggest event each year is the CMMA Country Music Awards of Australia held in january during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Other uses for the centre include:

  • Educational exhibitions
  • Markets/Fairs
  • Major event Dinners/Functions
  • Conferences
  • Indoor sporting events
  • Community events
  • Charity events

Concerts

Major artists to have played at the centre include Cold Chisel, Bob Dylan, The Seekers and Leo Sayer. The Australian bands Silverchair and Powderfinger played at the centre on the 4th September 2007 as part of their Across the Great Divide Tour in front of a crowd of 4500[1]. Missy Higgins played at the Trec in 2007.
