A Cosmic Mass (or "Techno-Cosmic Mass") is an event that attempts to combine the religious ritual of the Catholic mass — the Eucharist — and relevant evocative and connecting religious rituals, with the ecstatic energy of Techno music and rave parties. Aside from the sacramental wine used for the consecration, no intoxicating drugs are permitted during the celebration of a Cosmic Mass. Cosmic Masses have been celebrated in, among other venues, at Grace Cathedral (Episcopal) in San Francisco, St. Paul's Cathedral in London, and Wisdom University in Oakland, California.
