Curtin Singapore will be the second off-shore campus of Australia's Curtin University of Technology. It will provide local and international students with the opportunity to receive an Australian Style University Education in Singapore.

Location

The Campus will be situated on the former ITE Balestier Grounds at Jalan Rajah. It will be managed by Navitas Limited.[1]

History

Curtin's foray into Singapore for the past decade was through the establishment of links with Private Course Providers in Singapore, namely the Singapore Human Resource Institute, Marketing Institute of Singapore, and the Singapore Institute of Materials Management, and Curtin Degrees have been awarded through these schools. Curtin's new campus in Singapore allows the University to be able to provide courses on its own merit. The overall cost of the University's investment in this venture is expected to be S$40 Million.[2]

Curtin Singapore's operations will begin in December 2008, with an expected initial enrolment of 900 students. This includes new and current students who are enrolled in Curtin's courses through the University's Partners in Singapore[3].

Schools & Departments

  • Curtin Business School

Objectives

The university expects to grow to a size of about 3,000 students by its third year of operations. Unlike the failed UNSW Asia venture, Curtin Singapore intends to focus solely on teaching.[4]
