Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasar is a former Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and a famous Pashtun politician from the Balochistan Province in Pakistan. He has been returning to Parliament regularly since his first electoral win in 1985. He has remained a Federal and Provincial Minister several times. He is also the Provincial President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). He is a close aide of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

In the February 18, 2008 elections held in Pakistan, Mr. Nasar lost the election from Loralai District where there were allegtions of massive rigging by independant election observers. It is noteworthy to mention that he lost to a candidate from the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) which was being supported by former President Pervez Musharraf.

He is the chief of the pashtun Nasar Tribe who have many members in Pakistan and Afghanistan and commands strong influence and respect in his native constituency Loralai District, which is one of the biggest districts of Pakistan.
