Private placement agent
Appearance
In private equity, a private placement agent or placement agent, is an individual, or, more frequently, a firm that assists entrepreneurs or private companies looking to raise capital through a so called private placement. As such, the placement agent acts as a middle man between the people trying to raise money and various investors who may be interested in investing in the company. Typically, placement agents will charge fees that are based on the work they put in, but also on the amount of money raised by their clients.
