Jessica Valenti

Jessica Valenti (born November 1, 1978) is a blogger and feminist writer from New York City. She is founder and Executive Editor of the website Feministing.com, a website dedicate to feminist blogging, activism, and humour. Jessica received her master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University[1], has blogged for NARAL Pro-Choice America [2] and worked as a freelance contributor for Ms. magazine[3]. Her work has been featured in The Guardian [4],The Nation[5], TPMCafe[6], and Alternet[7].

Activities

Jessica is a contributing author to We Don't Need Another Wave[8] and Single State of the Union[9]. She has written as a freelancer for Ms. magazine[3], Salon, The Guardian (UK), The Nation, Alternet, The Scholar & Feminist and Guernica[citation needed].

Valenti first book, Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters, was published by Seal Press. To promote her book, she was interviewed by Liberal Oasis[10], Alternet[11], New York Magazine[12], Salon.com[13] and The Colbert Report.[14] In May 2008, Valenti published her second book He's a Stud, She's a Slut...And 49 Other Double Standards Every Woman Should Know [15]
