Ted Bell is an American author of suspense novels such as Hawke and Assassin. He is best known for his New York Times Bestselling series of thriller novels featuring the character Alex Hawke. Before becoming a novelist he was Vice-Chairman of the Board and World-Wide Creative Director for the Young & Rubicam advertising agency.

Bell serves on the Advisory Board at General Washington's home at Mt. Vernon.

Bell latest work is the Hawke spy novel, "Tsar". This book deals with the rise of the 'New Russia', the return of the KGB and the new 'Evil Empire' and is part of the Alex Hawke series. In Tsar, Hawke deals with a regenerated Kremlin, one which will stop at nothing to recoup its lost territories and assert world dominance.

Bell's World War II time-travel adventure novel, Nick of Time (book), was published in a new hardcover illustrated edition by St. Martin's Press in May, 2008. It features the character Nick McIver, along with Lord Richard Hawke [1] , Alexander "Gunner" Steele, Kate McIver (Nick's kid sister), Hobbes (Lord Hawke's butler), and the murderous Billy Blood.
