The 1982 Cleveland Browns season was the team's 33rd season with the National Football League.

The Browns were among 8 teams that qualify for the playoffs during this strike shorted season, and became one of only two teams to ever qualify for the playoffs despite having a losing record. The other team was the 4-5 Detroit Lions from the same year. The Browns were defeated in the first round of the playoffs by Los Angeles Raiders 27-10, marking the second time in three years the Browns were knocked out the playoffs by the Raiders.

The Browns' first round draft pick, rookie sensation linebacker Chip Banks earned 5.5 sacks in just nine games.
