The 2009 Maqadna Mosque strike occurred on January 3 2009 as part of the 2008–2009 Israel–Gaza conflict when Israel warplanes bombed the Ibrahim al-Maqadna mosque in Beit Lahiya during evening prayers. Over 200 people were praying inside at the time. Israel alleged that the mosque was used to store weapons and ammunition. Thirteen Palestinians were killed, and dozens wounded.[1] One child was among the casualties.[2]
