Esuvees are powerful and dangerous beasts bioengineered by the Toyota Motor Company as part of its 2002 settlement with the United States government. The $27 million effort was counted as an astounding success until footage of the Esuvees being ridden by cowboys in a mockup of a rodeo was leaked to Toyota's marketing department and released as part of a television ad. Since this occurred before patent rights for the beasts could be claimed, Toyota management elected to euthanize all existing Esuvees in order to keep them out of the hands of competitors. Inside sources have claimed that late in the process of putting the beasts down, a few managed to escape and are thought to be wandering the Alaskan Tundra. Toyota denies this claim.
