New Romantics???!!!

This is THE funniest bit I read on Wiki in a long time. If anybody ever saw a Telex video knows that they (a bespectacled bearded intellectual, a moustached, long-haired fatso in a suit and a nondescript) could NEVER, NEVER, EVER in this world or in another be smuggled as New Romantics. Masybe the editor meant New Wave, but even that... If anything, they were faintly associated to the electro-disco subgenre ("Funkytown" by lipps Inc, Giorgio Moroder and company), but they both (band and genre) were very short-lived and no association survived. Max Ventura, Italy.

Given that most of the what links here [ http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Whatlinkshere&target=Telex] links appear to be related to the teleprinter technology would it not be better for the pop group article to be moved to telex (band) and make telex a disambig page between them and teleprinter? I will implement this if there is no objections by 1 March 2005 (i.e. two week from now) Thryduulf 00:03, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I concur with the above. Telex as a teleprinter network is far more well known and historically important than the band. -- --137.111.13.34 11:35, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I have no objection to it becoming a disambiguation page for teleprinter and Telex (band)--though I don't think either of them are particularly historically important, and I think most people haven't heard of either... Metamatic 21:25, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Last Place in Eurovision?

According to Eurovision Song Contest 1980, Belgium (Telex) were third from last, not second to last, having been "beaten" by both Morocco and Finland. 208.58.71.231 (talk) 11:19, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
