NHL
In Ryan's first NHL regular season game, and first game of the 2007–2008 NHL season, he scored the only goal for the Anaheim Ducks, against the Los Angeles Kings, at The O2 arena in London, England. Ryan was sent back to the AHL in Portland to get more experience and playing time. He was recalled on March 10th 2008 when Corey Perry's leg injury sidelined him for the remainder of the regular season.
In the following 2008-2009 season, Bobby Ryan made it to the Ducks 08-09 roster but because of the return of veteran Right Wing Teemu Selanne, he had to be sent down to the Ducks farm team in the American Hockey League, the Iowa Chops due to salary cap issues.
Ryan recorded a natural hat trick, the first of his career and first by a rookie in Anaheim Ducks franchise history, on January 8, 2009 against the Kings at Staples Center in Template:City-state, during a 4-3 loss. He became the first rookie in Ducks history to record a hat trick, and it was the fastest hat trick by any player in the 15-year history of the franchise. [1]
