Moire Conroy (born ) is an American fashion designer.

Conroy was born in Evanston, Illinois.

Education Conroy graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006.

Since leaving the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2006, Conroy has sewn-up an impressive list of accolades and accomplishments. After winning various “fashion excellence” awards and scholarships at the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago, Conroy studied at leading design institutions in Paris and with renowned Parisian designer Gaspard Yurkeivich.

Upon returning to the U.S., she studied with noted artist/designer Nick Cave in Chicago and began designing and styling clothes for a variety of gallerists and performing artists throughout the country. In 2007 Conroy was honored by Genart Chicago (www.genart.org) as one of the Fresh Faces in Design. May 2005: School of the Art Institute of Chicago Student Fashion Awards – the Gladys Pick Fashion Scholarship for $5,000 [1]

Early Career In 2008, Moire moved to New York to pursue her dreams and currently works with design teams, stylists, and photographers on tailoring projects at such renowned companies as Tommy Hilfiger, Polo/Ralph Lauren, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Juicy Couture. She also designs clothes for visual and musical artists such as Nick Cave and Rashid Johnson, and her work can be seen this Saturday, February 7, on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The 51st Annual Academy Awards selected as one of eight finalists from around the world to design a red carpet gown for the Academy Awards Ceremony on February 22, 2009.

Conroy was selected by the Director of Fashion for the 2009 Academy Awards to join a select group of emerging designers who will be showcasing their “Red Carpet” designs to 200 members of the international press at a special Academy Awards Press Conference on February 10 in Los Angeles. Each year the Academy hosts a style press conference to highlight the red carpet aspect of the Oscars, showcasing such internationally known designers as Giorgio Armani, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta. This is the first year the academy will be giving emerging designers a platform to showcase their Oscar-worthy designs.

The winning design, which will be chosen by public voting on www.Oscar.com, will be announced on the Oscar pre-show and featured on the actual Oscar telecast, Sunday, February 22, 2009. The winning designer will also attend the Academy Awards show and meet with famous designers.
