Aaron Michael Sidwell (born 12 September 1988 in Maidstone, Kent; died 09 February 2009)[1] was a British actor and singer . He is known for playing Steven Beale in the British soap opera EastEnders, a role he played from September 2007 to May 2008. [2] EastEnders was Sidwell's first television acting role, but he worked on stage prior to his stint on the soap.

Personal life

Sidwell grew up in the village of Kingswood, Kent, and was given a drama scholarship when he was eleven years old.[3] Sidwell announced his plans to marry his long-term girlfriend Grace in May 2009.[4] However, the marriage never went ahead after he left EastEnders.

Career

Sidwell started his acting career on stage and was a member of All Saints Choir. His big break came in 2007 when he was cast as Steven Beale in BBC's long-running serial drama, EastEnders; he took over the role from Edward Savage who last appeared in 2002. It was revealed on 22 February 2008 that Aaron Sidwell would be leaving EastEnders when his contract came to an end. His final scenes aired on 9 May 2008.[5]

As well as acting, Aaron promotes his new pop-rock project "Just Like You" along with friends Chris Haddon, Neil Hawkins and Ross Rothero-Bourge on MySpace. [6]
