The latter edit I made, also deleted, did not contain any obscenities. If you look at the facts, you will see the conspiracy is there, just like I posted. Please don't post me any soap box links, it's not my view, it's a fact. I was under the impression that discussion pages were for discussing the article!

Now, how should the rant be worded so you will not delete it?

Hello and thanks for the reply. I understand the policy but I don't quite understand what you would like me to do with my piece, point the actual links to wikipedia itself?? I'm not trying to cause problems but to improve this article. The first rant with the obscenities was out of place, yes, It just made me very angry since I have great respect and trust for wikipedia and yet I find an article like this here. Please advice. Most conspiracies are secret and don't have a well known website describing their existance and policies. Ok, how would you improve the article? It currently says "The Linux kernel or Linux is an operating system kernel used by a family of Unix-like operating systems. The term Linux distribution is used to refer to the various operating systems built on top of the Linux Kernel." which seems pretty clear to me, but if you feel that could be improved upon, you are very welcome to do so, or you can discuss possible improvements on the Talk:Linux_kernel page. First, thank you for the patience in dealing with me and apologies for my childish behavior. I would word the first sentence Linux is a kernel used by a family of Unix-like operating systems. The rest is fine with me. I think the current version is a bit weird and it has nasty effects in relation to the confusion surrounding the word Linux. Many people only have a very vague idea what it is. With the current version, many people in hurry can misread it Linux is an operating system, which is not the case.

I don't see any problem with your suggested rewording. Have a read of Wikipedia:Be bold, then make any alterations to the article that you think will help. If you would prefer to discuss your rewording first, then suggest it on the Talk:Linux_kernel page, but that isn't necessary on Wikipedia. Please use the edit summary to explain your alteration, ie: Simplified to improve clarity, you could misread it as "Linux is an operating system" before. Don't be disheartened if anyone edits what you write, it's all part of the process, see here.

Uhm, I don't see an 'edit this page' button on the article page? I guess this Wikipedia business is just too complicated for me, too many steps and rules. I was angry, now I'm depressed, I guess that's progress. Now what?

Ah, unfortunately that article appears to have had a lot of vandalism in the past so has been semi-protected to prevent anonymous users from editing it.
