Forrest Sawyer is an news anchor for both NBC and its cable counterpart MSNBC. Sawyer is an occasional substitute for Brian Williams as anchor for NBC Nightly News. Prior to joining NBC, he spent 11 years with ABC News, where he anchored the ABC Saturday Night News, and frequently substituted for Ted Koppel on Nightline.

He is a recipient of the George Foster Peabody Award, seven National Emmy Awards, two Sigma Delta Chi Awards, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, an Associated Press Award, an Ohio State Award, an Ark Award and two American Psychological Association Awards.

Forrest Sawyer will be moderating a debate between two fictitious presidential candidates on the November 6, 2005 episode of the NBC television show The West Wing.
