The Airtrans automated people mover was the first successful, fully automated transit system in the United States when it opened with Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in January of 1974. This system was manufactured and installed by Vought Corporation in a two and half year period.[1] By September 29, 1975 the system has moved over 4,863,920 people and by the end of its life, in 2005, it served over 250 million passengers.[2][3]

  • Capacity: 9,000 People/hr
    • 6,720 Interline Bags Per Hour
    • 15,300 lb Mail/hr
    • Between Airtrans maintenance faculty and any one terminal[2]
