Zumbox is a paperless mail system that allows postal mail to be sent and delivered online in a digital format. The service works in parallel to traditional postal services, whereby a digital mailbox—a Zumbox—has been created for every street address in the U.S. This enables paperless digital mail to be sent to any street address using the existing addressing system i.e. street, city, state, and zip code.

There are more than 150 million street addresses in the U.S.[1], each with a corresponding Zumbox. People can claim their Zumbox by entering their street address at Zumbox.com. The address is confirmed when Zumbox sends a PIN letter via USPS to the address. The resident then has to enter the PIN at Zumbox.com to secure their Zumbox.

Zumbox provides security in compliance with PCI DSS, BITS and HIPAA security rules and regulations[2]. Founded in 2007, Zumbox is privately held and is based in Westlake Village, CA.
