Gregorio Ramirez Gonzalez, was a Mexican born Enterpreneur. He was born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on March 30, 1913 and died on the 4th of February 2002. He was born in a poor family whose main income came from a small town store. He never ended his studies at 5th grade and crossed the border to seek a better economic future. He came back into Mexico after his mother looked form him and started to work for his uncle at a restaurant. He married Maria Jauregui and procreated 5 children. Gregorio, Guillermina, Clara, Gloria, Rosa.

In 1946 he started a small trailer shop in San Nicolas de Los Garza, Nuevo Leon, which then became the huge Grupo Industrial Ramirez, leader in the Mexican Automotive Industry. With companies like IASA, IMMSA, Autobuses Sultana, Trailers y Tractocamiones Ramirez, GIR.SA. They became leaders in their area participating in joint ventures with Nissan, Ford, GM, White GMC, Nissan Forklifts, SAME tractors, etc.1 [1]

He also brought to the North American Continent the German Automotive Group, Borgward. They brought the whole German plant and set up shop in Monterrey, Mexico. After a few good years, the Mexican government with other personal interests in Automotive Groups like GM and Ford, started to put pressure at them and made them close the company. Borward then moved onto Brazil.2[2]

When he became ill, he then left the company in his son, Gregorio Ramirez Jauregui, hands. His son then abused the company as well as the faith put in him by his sisters and his mother and in shady operations stole money from them. Even in fraudulent operations stole land and money that was left for them in their will.

This made the company a mess and brought them into the problems they have right now.

Gregorio Ramirez Gonzalez is has been given honors numerous times, as an outstanding citizen for Nuevo Leon, his home town Sabinas Hidalgo, as en Enterpreneur, as a club member of the rotary club, and being part of a select group of important and influential Mexicans of his time.
