Nazenin Ansari

Nazenin Ansari (Persian: نازنین انصاری) is an Iranian journalist. She is the Diplomatic Correspondent of Kayhan (London), a weekly farsi language newspaper. The publication’s writers and contributors come from across the Iranian political spectrum. She is also a Producer for VOA—Persian News Network which broadcasts 7 hours of news, information and cultural programming every day.

She was elected to the governing Committee of the Foreign Press Association in London in 2002. In this capacity, in addition to also being elected as the President of the FPA, she has served as Vice President and Chairwoman of the FPA Media Awards Committee. The ceremony is the premier event in London at which British journalism is celebrated and rewarded by their international peers. At the heart of the Awards is the FPA’s ‘Dialogue of Cultures’ programme, designed to go beyond multiculturalism to bring greater understanding between cultures, reducing conflict, and clarifying shared values. It aims to promote and utilise the media’s responsibilities and role in contributing to greater understanding between cultures, reducing conflict, clarifying shared values.

In addition Nazenin has been one of the Judges of UK Parliamentary Press Gallery Awards since its inception in 2003. The award is presented annually to the journalist who is considered to have made the greatest contribution internationally to the 'protection, promotion and perpetuation of parliamentary democracy'.

She has contributed to BBC World’s Dateline London and BBC News24 and has taken part in programmes on BBC Radio 4. She also provides news analysis in relation to Iran on CNN International, Sky and Al-Jazeera. Her commentaries have appeared in the Comment is Free—Guardian, Fabian Review, OpenDemocracy, Christian Science Monitor, New York Sun and the Baltimore Sun.
