Nicholson's obelisk is situated at the Tarnol pass of the Margalla hills just out side the twin cities of Rawalpindi-Islamabad (Pakistan), en-route the famous historical town of Taxila.

It was erected in 1868 in the honour of one of the British Empire's greatest military heroes- Brigadier-General John Nicholson (1822-57).[1]
