Chacrinha

José Abelardo Barbosa de Medeiros (Surubim, September 30 of 1917 - Rio de Janeiro, on June 30 of 1988), the Chacrinha was a great communicator of radio and one of the biggest names in television in Brazil, as presenter of programs for auditorium , huge success from 50 to 80. He was the author of the famous phrase: "In television, nothing is created, everything is copy." In his television programs, were revealed to the entire country names like Roberto Carlos, Paulo Sergio and Raul Seixas, among many others.

Since the 70s he was called the Old Warrior, as homage made to him by Gilberto Gil said they are known to Chacrinha a letter composed that song called "big hug".

Childhood

Born in Surubim and 10 years old, has moved with the family to Campina Grande in Paraíba. At 17, he was studying in Recife. Began to attend college of Medicine in 1936 and, in the 3rd year in 1937, had his first contact with the radio on Radio Club of Pernambuco to give a talk on alcohol. Chacrinha, despite successive financial crises in the family, had, however, a quiet childhood.
