Amniotic stem cell

Amniotic fluid conteins a considerable quantity of stem cells [1], multipotent and able to differentiate into various tissues and useful for future human application.

All over the world universities and research institutes are studing amniotic fluid to discover all amniotic stem cells qualities, and famous scientist as [Antony Athala][2], [Paolo de Coppi] [3] and [Giuseppe Simoni] [4]have cought important results.

From ethical point, stem cells from amniotic fluid solve a lot of problems. First, because it's possible to caught amniotic stem cells without destroing embrions, and second because there are not necessary to choose an alternative beetween donor or autologouse use.

Thanks to recent studies, also supported by Lombardy Region in Italy, is possible to conserve the stem cells extracted from amniotic fluid in a private stem cells banks [5].
