Alma Cuervo

Alma Cuervo (born 13 August 1951 in Tampa, Florida) is a Hispanic-American stage actress who has also performed on film and television. She holds an M.F.A. in acting from the Yale School of Drama, from which she graduated in 1976 alongside actress Meryl Streep and playwright Wendy Wasserstein.

Cuervo starred in the role of Madame Morrible in the National Tour of Wicked. She replaced Carole Shelley on March 8th 2006 and left the Tour on January 16th 2007 to star in the National US Tour of My Fair Lady. Cuervo recently reprised her role as Madame Morrible in the National Tour of Wicked. She returned to the role in November 2007, replacing Barbara Tirrell. Cuervo left the Tour on July 17, 2008 and was replaced by Myra Lucretia Taylor. She is also noted for her portrayal of Ida Strauss in the musical Titanic.
