Hooman (also spelled Houman) - هومن is a Persian name for men which means, "Good Natured" . Hooman is a very historic name which has been also mentioned in the Shahnameh of Ferdosi. The name has become more popular in Iran as several people with that name have become famous singers and writers.

In the Ferdowsi's story of Rostam and Sohrab, Hooman a Turani warrior is in charge of keeping Rostam's presence in the battle a secret from Sobhrab.
