The North Star Roller Girls (NSRG) is a 100% female skater owned and operated amateur roller derby league which plays by Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) rules. NSRG plays at the Minneapolis Convention Center. In December of 2008, NSRG was admitted to WFTDA as its 65th member league.
League Organization
The North Star Roller Girls League is comprised of four teams: the Banger Sisters, Delta Delta Di, Kilmore Girls, and the Violent Femmes. NSRG also has a traveling team, the Supernovas, composed of skaters from all four league teams, which competes against leagues from other areas.
Business Organization
The NSRG is an LLC (limited liability corporation) formed pursuant to the laws of the State of Minnesota. Skaters are not paid to play, and referees, announcers, and support staff are all volunteers. NSRG is committed to partnering with local businesses and charitable organizations in an effort to strengthen and support the community at large.

On Saturday, November 8, 2008 the North Star Roller Girls took part in their first tournament, at the inaugural Rolling Along the River tournament hosted by Sioux City, IA. Five teams from across the Midwest participated in the event. The North Star Roller Girls swept the tournament with a victory over the Minnesota Rollergirls in the finals. This victory over St Paul's Minnesota Rollergirls was the first meeting between these two leagues. The North Star Roller Girls won this hard-fought bout 42 –31 in a defensive match played by both teams.
