The Afro-Abkhazians are a small Abkhaz-speaking group of the Abkhaz people, living in Adzyubzha, Kodori valley, Abkhazia, in Republic of Georgia. They descend from African slaves, bought by Shervashidze / Chachba Princes from Turks. Most have assimilated due to intermarriage with ethnic Abkhazians.[1][2]

Afro-Abkhazians and their relationships with Abkhazians were featured in prose by Fazil Iskander.
