The Wessex Scene (formally the Wessex News) is the oldest publication at the University of Southampton. It's website was nominated for best website at the Guardian Student media awards three years in a row before finally winning the award in 2004. Inside the Wessex Scene is the editorially independent entertainment magazine 'The Edge'.
