[2][3] Chris Daughtry performed the song live for the first time on American Idol on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. According to one published report, "A Grammy nomination next year [for "No Surprise"] would not be a surprise."[4]
Eric Dill is the singer of Just the Girl, a song written by Adam Schlesinger, and recorded and performed by The Click Five. It reached #11 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song was released on August 16, 2005.
He starred in the movie Taking Five, released in 2007. It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, April 28, 2007. The movie aired on ABC Family on Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Early life
He's a Midwestern boy, who, not too long ago, graduated from Purdue University in Indiana with a Bachelor's in Industrial Technology. And not long after that, he was on stage singing to hundreds of thousands of screaming fans, fronting one of the most successful rock bands of 2005. As his father has said, "He is likely one of the only rock stars who can program a robot."
Fortunately for us, robotics lost out, and Eric Dill is embracing his music – not to mention, the fans who love it. "It's pretty bizarre and awesome to have people so enamored by you that they forget themselves," he says.
The Click Five
The last several years of Eric's life have been spent as the lead singer and front man of The Click Five, one of the fastest-rising rock bands of the decade. In '05, their debut album, Greetings from Imrie House, was the highest-debuting CD from a new rock group. In a whirlwind of a ride, Eric found himself on sound stages from Live With Regis and Kelly to Late Night with Conan O'Brien and opening for internationally renowned acts like Ashlee Simpson, The Backstreet Boys and McFly – and most notably, in what he still describes as one of the most surreal moments of his life, performing for the President of the United States at Christmas in Washington.
"Playing for President Bush and his wife was much like playing for any other show, except that if I jumped from the stage and out into the crowd, I would have attracted some negative attention from the Secret Service," Dill jokes. "Seriously, it was an honor. It was cool to see the President, front and center, rocking along to the music in approval."
Personal Life
For a young man who's been cultivating this particular dream of musician notoriety since high school (when he founded, managed and performed in his first band, "Panagia"), this journey has been an exciting one, to say the least. And while he enjoyed rocking with fans during his years with The Click Five, when he took a lead role in the upcoming movie Taking Five, it became readily apparent to Eric that his ambitions spanned far beyond his music. That in mind, he packed his bags in Boston and re-located to L.A., where, under new management, he’ll pursue not just music, but also other potential acting opportunities that might come his way.
"I have never been more excited to pursue my interests! I have a lot of ideas, and that's where it starts." Eric is currently working on new music, as well as other creative endeavors.
