Larne F.C. is a Northern Ireland football club playing in the IFA Championship. The club, founded in 1889, hails from Larne and plays its home matches at Inver Park. Club colours are red and white. The current manager is Paul Miller.
From 1972 until 2008, the club enjoyed senior status, but reverted to intermediate status when it failed to gain a place in the new IFA Premiership.
Larne F.C. also supports a ladies' team, whose colours are red, white and black. Formed by a small committee of parents & friends of the Larne Colts in November 2004, they made history by being the first ladies' team to play at Windsor Park as part of the half-time entertainment during the Irish Cup final in May 2005. The ladies also have a junior team for ages 8-14.
In the summer of 2009 Larne completed the signing of Rathfern Rangers prize forward, (no not Andrews, the other wee skinny one) known only as 'wee trunks'. The signing of 'trunks' is seen as a major coup for Larne who beat off a last ditch attempt from 'The Academy' (Newington Rangers) to his signature.
