Caicó is a municipality located in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The climate is hot and dry, but it rains between December and April. The population is 60,988 (2005 est). The city has a total area of 1229 km2.  There are 5 predominant surnames among his population (Medeiros, Araújo, Maia, Fernandes and Gurgel).
