Owl City

Owl City is a band that was formed in early 2007[1], and consists of one single member, 22 year-old Adam Young[2]. Adam Young started out making music in his parents' basement[2], which he claims is a result of his insomnia[3]. Owl City's most major claim-to-fame is its own MySpace profile, which has recieved more than 5 million plays on tracks, such as Hello Seattle[3].

Record Label

Ever since Owl City had started, the small band was unsigned[3]. In early 2009, Owl City was signed to record label Universal Republic with the help of entertainment attorney Ken Abdo[2].

Discography

Owl City has released one albums, with a second entitled "Ocean Eyes" to be released in 2009. In 2007, Owl City released an EP titled "Of June." In 2008, a second album was released, entitled "Maybe I'm Dreaming." [4]

Owl City has also released two singles, "Hot Air Balloon" and "Strawberry Avalanche,"[4] which were a part of the release of every new track in the summer of 2009, leading up to the release of "Ocean Eyes."[5]
