Edington is a lovly rural village, situated on the north side of the polden hills. Either side of it lye the villages of Chilton Polden and Catcott, and north of it is the small village of Burtle. There is a church, but the nearest primary school is in the village of Catcott. It has an extremly good village hall and surgery, and annual pantomimes are held in the village hall. In the north end of the village is a Holy Well, which now does not function, due to recent botched drainage work done by Wessex Water. It also has its own phonebox, the pride an joy of the village, located at the crossroad in the centre of the village, where also exists one of two letterboxes.
