Attila Pacsay (born October 30, 1970) film composer.

He has become known for writing music for television productions, plays and films. He cooperates with famous directors such as Ferenc Rofusz, Ferenc Cako, Geza M.Toth on a regular basis.


Biography

In 1995 he finished his studies as composer at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music under Emil Petrovics.

Since 2001 he has been teaching at the Visual Communication department of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest.

In 2004 Ferenc Rofusz the director of the Academy Award winning "The Fly" asked him to compose music for his newest production.

In 2006 the film "Maestro" (directed by Géza M.Tóth) was nominated for Academy Award. Thus now he has an Oscar nomination among his works. This film received more than 50 international awards.

In 2008 he won the award for Best Sound Design for the film "Ergo" in ANIMANIMA, Serbia.

In 2009 he won the prize Best Music for the film "Ergo" in KAFF, Hungary.

His music

He prefers acoustic instruments. He composes music for wide range of formations from chamber orchestras (of jazz and contemporary music) to symphony orchestras. He gladly crosses traditional instruments with modern electronic music effects. He happily uses the sounds of the visual environment as musical structure which he fully integrates into the instrumental music.
