The Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium is a not for profit arts organization. It has organized an annual jazz festival in Central Brooklyn, New York for nine years and created the Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame & Museum.[1]

The Chairman of the Consortium is Jitu Weusi.[1]

2009 CBJC Jazz Festival

From April 1 thru April 30, 2009, the Consortium is presenting the "10th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival." The theme of this year's festival is "A Decade of Keeping Our Music Alive". Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium, (CBJC) founded in 1999, is an amalgam of patrons of Jazz, jazz musicians, entertainment venues, faith based and community organizations. Over the past nine (9) years, they have presented an annual spring festival, established a Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame and produced yearly programs of events and activities that feature local jazz talent. CBJC is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving, promoting and supporting live music within the under served communities of Brooklyn.

Festival events include induction of members to the Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame class of 2009 includes Freddie Hubbard and Leonard Gaskin. [1]
