My finance notes

I'm reading a book on finance for Wikipedia. I guess I'll have to type my notes here. I'll start after lunch.--Chuck Marean 19:23, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Finance

Finance has a few basic ideas. 1. Value. Something has value if someone would give something for it. 2. Barter. Giving something of yours in return for something you want. 3. Money. Something agreed by the group to be of intermediate value. 4. Capital. The accumulation of surplus value. 5. Credit. Selling in return for a promise to pay.
