Son of Khalid ibn Walid

He fought against Ali as a general under Muawiya I at the Battle of Siffin

"Muawiya I said to the people of Syria, 'I want to appoint a successor over you and need your advice'. The people liked Abdul Rahman bin Khalid, but Mu'awiya could not tolerate this, since his intention was to appoint Yazeed [his own son] as his successor. After this Abdul Rahman became ill and died shortly after.

This Abdul Rahman was the son of Khalid bin Waleed, and he was Mu'awiya's general in Siffeen.
