Daramombe
Daramombe is a Mission School in the province of Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe located at the eastern end of the Daramombe Hills, about 45 km from Chivhu. The school serves as a trading and commercial centre for the Nharira, Save and Save North communal lands.
The likes of Tawanda Nhemachena, Alfred Chinhengo, Grand Mutondo, T.K Tsodzo and Gedion Gono were educated there. The school which was distroyed by the liberation struggle in the 1970s was brought to modern standards by the formner hardworking headmaster Ngoni Mujuru. When Mujuru joined the school it had a pass rate of about 30% and it was raised to 99.6% during his time. In 1994 under the Mujuru Era the school was electrified,science labs were eastablished among other major developments. In 2000 A level was introduced. Recently the school have been affected by mismanagement since the departure of Ngoni Mujuru in 2005. This has been worsened by the economic problems that is currently bedevilling Zimbabwe. Alfred is the father of twins Kelly and Denzel Chinhengo born in Zimbabwe in the year 1999, kune zvikoro zvinot Mudavanhu Primary School, Guvakuva,Chafa ,Daramombe primary, Zhenje primary, Zheke primary school. Kanisio Chidanire was born in this area and did his primary education at Mudavanhu primary school and was a teacher at Daramombe secondary school.He (Kanisio) is a father of two Fadzai Mitchel and Simba blessing.
There are many villages that are found in this area these include Badza , Chafa,Maisiri, Mudoveri, Mberi,Mudavanhu, Manjengwa, Makumbe,Muchenje etc.There is a range of mountain that stretches from as far as Hokonya area down to Gokomere. This range is called Daramombe range.Alongside this range of mountain is a river called Mwerahari river that joins the Save River down in the districts in the Manicaland province.
Some of the country's prominent people did their primary education at some of the schools mentioned for example the famous writer,Pafunge Author T.K. Tsodzo and the current governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Gideon Gono.
