Mountain's Edge, Nevada is a newer master planned community inLas Vegas inClark County, The community is located at Blue Diamond Road (Highway 160) and Buffalo Drive Nestled against the rugged foothills in the beautiful Mojave Desert . Mountain's Edge is located less than five miles from I-215 and 20 minutes from McCarran International Airport. Mountains Edge is served by Interstates 15, 215 and 515 and several other major roadways. Ground broke on the community in February of 2004 and is currently home to approximately 10,000 residents. Mountain's Edge will include five community parks and an extensive trails.The Exploration Peak is the city's first mountain park, with trails constructed that lead up to the top of 2,846-foot Exploration Peak. The series of hiking trails were designed for people of all ages, and include ramadas at two different stages. Exploration Peak is part of Exploration Park, which measures 80 acres and is the first of several parks planned for the community located at Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive.There are ten different home builders with communities under construction in Mountain's Edge (there are a total of 20 builders involved), including DR Horton, Concordia, US Home, Toll Bros, Lennar, Beazer, Woodside, KB Home, Pardee and Meritage/Perma-Built. Mountain's Edge is planned to have all of the modern convienences, but with the look of the old southwest.When fully developed, Mountain's Edge is planned for four elementary schools. In the Fall of 2008, the first school, Carolyn S. Reedom Elementary School opens, primarily made up of students from Wright Elementary School. A second elementary school is under construction, two middle schools and a high school. These schools are part of theClark County School District.High school students residing in Mountain's Edge are zoned to attend Desert Oasis High School until there is enough high school age students in Mountain Edge. Rotkin Real Estate Group and Las Vegas Development Company open Mountain Edge first commercial center on the southwest corner of Blue Diamond and Cimarron called (Cimarron Square.)(Cimarron Square.) is$17 million boutique neighborhood shopping center will have nearly 40,000 square feet of retail space.The project was scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2008 and tenants to move in March 2008.This is the first retail area to directly serve the Mountain's Edge community.The center will offer a variety of upscale neighborhood retail tenants and businesses such as Nevada State Bank Inaka Sushi,Dunkin Donuts (w/drive thru),Pacific Dental Services, Papa John's Pizza,American Nail and SpaStar Bright Cleaners,Bajio Mexican Grill,Limelight Salon & Day Escape,Snap Fitness Center.
