Master franchise
A master franchise is a person or entity who provides services to franchisees in a specified territory as well as owning the rights to develop a franchise system within a geographical territory. This territory is typically a major market, geographical region or even one or more countries. The master franchisee assists the franchising company in developing the territory in exchange for a share in the royalty revenues and franchise fees that are generated from operations within that territory. The master franchisee benefits from a proven track record, brand name, and a successful operating system. In return the master franchisee is responsible for supporting the local franchisees and protecting the brand name of the franchise company.[1][2]
