Dorothy Nimmo (born in Manchester - 24 May 2001) was a British poet.

Life

She was educated in York and Cambridge and worked as an actress in London. She spent the 1960s in Geneva but came back to England in 1970 to Peterborough, where she brought up four children, gardened and kept goats.

After her divorce in 1980 she moved to Lancaster where she graduated from Lancaster University in 1989. She spent nine months at Pendle Hill Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation.

She returned to be caretaker of the Friends Meeting House Gloucester, and cook at a vegetarian restaurant. She was then caretaker of the Friends Meeting House in Settle, Yorkshire.[1]

Her work appeared in Stand,[2] Thumbscrew,[3] Areté Magazine,[4] Oxford Poetry.[5]
