Laminins are a family of heterotrimeric glycoproteins found in the basal lamina underlying epithelia. Their binding to type IV collagen contributes to the self-assembly of the basal lamina from components secreted by cells, and their recognition by integrins is important to the function of the basal lamina.CRAP
