Anders Manga

Anders Manga (born May 15, 1973) is an American recording artist with a loyal underground following of fans worldwide. He was nominated for "Best Band" in 2006 by Gothic Beauty Magazine and has released 5 albums since 2005, most recently, "X's and the Eyes" in August of 2008.

Early life

Anders' father, Jerry Anders Sr. (an amateur boxer and fire fighter) and mother, Dianne were devout and strict adherents to Christianity, and accordingly, much of Anders' young life revolved around the Southern Baptist Christian denomination.

Musical influences

Anders was eleven years old when he first began teaching himself Bass guitar, after borrowing a bass from a neighborhood friend. Anders identifies Alice Cooper as having been his main musical influence as a child, and has said that he was the reason why he wanted to pursue music. Other artists such as David Bowie, Slade, Gary Numan, Nick Cave and Marc Bolan also had a major influence on his musical tastes.
