Dewi Griffiths joined BBC Wales from the Royal Air Force where he became a producer of outside TV sports programmes, notably Rugby union. Dewi was born 16 August 1931 (source: himself in his programme A String of Pearls broadcast on 16 August 2009)
After retirement he has hosted he highly popular nostalgia record programme 'A String of Pearls' on BBC Radio Wales. The programme has many internet listeners around the world.
