This page was originally for listing cut and paste moves which could not be repaired due to a then-extant technical limitation. The limitation has since been removed, but this page is still available if you find a cut-and-paste move, and are not able to repair it yourself (There is a procedure for doing it, but 1. only admins can do it, and 2. it's a bit tricky).
Currently the only technical limitation is that category and file description pages can't be moved.
Admins: please read Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves and Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions.
Please read Wikipedia:New histmerge list and Wikipedia talk:New histmerge list.
The procedure
- Place a
{{db-histmerge|NAME OF PAGE THE ARTICLE WAS CUT FROM}}
template at the new location of the article which has been moved through cut and pasting, i.e. on the article where the pasting was done. - If the issue is clear-cut (straight up cut and paste move to a better title), having this speedy delete tag on the page should be enough. In more complex cases (explained at Wikipedia:How to fix cut and paste moves), please leave a description of the problem under the "Repair requests" section.
- An admin will look the pages over and perform whatever tasks are necessary.
- Once this is done, the admin will post the result here.
- Old requests will be removed after 30 days.
Repair requests
Please add new requests to the top of the New Requests section. Thanks.
New requests
- Middle Earth/Fellowship of the Ring -> The Fellowship of the Ring ; apparently in 2002, User:Ed Poor rebuilt it as a new book article. 76.66.200.21 (talk) 04:13, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

- Melee! Pokémon Scramble to Pokémon Rumble. I was going to move it normally, but someone jumped the gun and made a one sentence page, which blocked me from moving the article. Blake (Talk·Edits) 21:13, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Done 2008 Pro-Tibet protests to International reaction to 2008 Tibetan unrest (reported by {{db-histmerge}}) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Done John Henry Gooding to James Henry Gooding (reported by {{db-histmerge}}) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:19, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Done Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon/Jynx to Jynx (asked in my user talk page) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 14:58, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon/Charizard to Charizard. I worked on the page over at WP:Pokémon/Charizard, and then C+P'ed the page to Charizard(which was currently a redirect). It has since then been further edited. I want WP:Pokémon/Charizard's history merged over to Charizard. Is this possible while keeping the current history of Charizard? Done Dubai Men's College (DMC) to Dubai Men's College (move asked for, I found histmerge needed) Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:00, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Kenji Yamamoto was cut and pasted to Kenji Yamamoto (Nintendo musician) - without attribution. The former was turned into a disambiguation page. Following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kenji Yamamoto (DBZ game musician) the original article (at its new location) was the only one left on the disambiguation page and it was redirected to the new location. I think Kenji Yamamoto (Nintendo musician) - which has been developed since the cut/paste - should be merged "on top of" Kenji Yamamoto, this was the revision before the cut and paste - the intermediate revisions ([1]) (which formed the disambig page and later redirect) could probably be deleted since a disambig page is no longer needed and it would look kind of odd in the flow of the history.
