Pr0metheus Burning

pr0metheus buRning (also commonly spelled 'Prometheus Burning') is a two-member electro-industrial group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, started in early 2001, and has garnered recent notable success with the release of their 2006 album "Beyond Repair", and it's 2007 remix album "nBoyde raRepi" (which included remixes from Xanopticon, Hypofixx, Iszoloscope, and others), both released through Hive Records. pr0metheus buRning has also played at the Indoctrination festival in 2006, as well as Reverence in 2007.

The current lineup is Greg VanEck doing all programming, with Nikki Telladictorian performing vocals and keyboard. They are currently signed to Hive Records.

History

pr0metheus buRning began as an experimental electronic project by Greg 'VanEck', in early 2001. In 2003, he released the Cathode demo, and some time after, Nikki 'Telladictorian', joined and performed vocals on some material featured on their 2005 release Influenza.

Influenza, their first full-length album, was released in 2004, originally through Between Existence. However, very shortly after only 50 copies were released, pr0metheus buRning dropped from Between Existence due to a dispute, which resulted in distribution of the album to be stopped. They quickly responded by re-releasing the album through Augmented Records, with an enhanced package and bonus tracks that were not included originally. Influenza remains to be the only released from Augmented Records to date.

In May, 2006, they were signed to Hive Records, and they released their next studio album: Beyond Repair, which has boosted the band's popularity, receiving several positive reviews by Igloo Magazine, Virus Magazine, and others.

The following year, in early 2007, a Beyond Repair remix album was released, entitled enBoyd raRepi, which included one previously unreleased track, and the rest, remixes by collaborating artists.

Currently, they have stopped touring to work on new material. Plans to have a vinyl-only release through Thac0 Records is currently pending, but is expected sometime in 2007 or early 2008.
