Homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures

Homogeneous mixtures are a type of mixture which is perfectly uniform in its composition, does not scatter light and its particles do not separate out using filtration. Its particle size is about10-9.its particles are very difficult to differentiate even under a microscope. A homogeneous mixture shows the property of it components. It does not show the tyndall effect.it is also called a solution. the mixture is very stable, i.e., its particles do not settle down. The definition is strongly depending on the context. For example in geology a homogeneous rock could be made from microscopic grains of several minerals which show strong varying properties. In chemistry a homogeneous suspension of material means that per volume the same amount of material is suspended in the substance, although it might be possible to see the particles under a microscope. A homogeneous solution has one phase (liquid) although the solute and solvent can vary, for example salt water.
