PEO C3T designs, acquires, fields and supports fully integrated and cost-effective C4ISR solutions that meet Warfighter capability needs while sustaining a world class work force.

Vision:

Overview:

Headquartered at Fort Monmouth, N.J and Aberdeen, MD., the Army’s Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications Tactical’s (PEO C3T) capabilities and support staff reach Warfighters at locations across the globe. The organization is responsible for six Project Management (PM)/Product Director (PD)) offices who play a key role in the design, acquisition, fielding and support of fully integrated and cost-effective C4ISR. Assigned to the organization is [PM Battle Command] (BC), (PD) Product Director Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM), PM Mobile Electric Power (MEP), PM Tactical Radio Communications Systems (TRCS), PM Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), and PM Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2).

History:

The history of the PEO C3T can be traced through various organizational changes and Army restructuring initiatives. Today, the organization plays a key role in fielding digital battlefield systems and sustaining them with in theater support. PEO C3T was known previously as the PEO for Command, Control and Communications Systems (PEO C3S), which was created from the merger of PEO Communications (COMM) and PEO Command and Control Systems (CCS) in 1995. This merger sought to integrate the acquisition management of C3I Systems for the digitized battlefield, Force XXI, and Warfighters from the laboratory to the foxhole. The mission of PEO C3S was to rapidly develop, field, and support leading edge, survivable, secure and interoperable tactical, theater and strategic command and control and communications systems. Task Force XXI, which digitized the Army for the first time, began in 1994. The 4th Infantry Division was the experimental force, which used the digital systems at Fort Hood, Texas. System-related issues arose when the Division first began to train. The products were sent to a facility at Fort Hood, which became the Central Technical Support Facility (CTSF). The challenges were resolved in the CTSF’s labs, rather than in the field.
